Name: NiteshHouse: Of the Badgers.Favorite musicals: RENT, Phantom of the Opera, The Lion King, Les Miserables, The Producers, Wicked... I think I'll stop there for now. Those are the ones that I really love, though I'm certian that I like countless others that I'm not thinking of.Favorite composers: *Shrug* No idea offhand.Favorite songs: I'd do one from every musical I said I liked, because I can.RENT - "Christmas Bells". I can never completely explain how much I love this song, but I totally do. Every time you listen to it you hear something new. And it's really the song that got me into RENT in the first place. Phantom of the Opera - "Music of the Night". So calming. The Lion King - "They Live in You" This is the part where Mufasa tells Simba about the kings of the past up in the heavens. It's my favorite song in the entire show. There is also another version of it later on, when Rafiki is telling Simba that his father lives in him, which is much more upbeat and I probably like it just as well, but this is my fav overall. I'm just a Mufasa junkie. :D Because I just uploaded it for my friends on yousendit, here's a copy for anyone who's interested. http://s25.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=0NZGREVNKVKQY222UAE0I73ETZLes Miserables - "Stars". Because Javert is teh sex crazily determined people are fun.The Producers - Hmm, probably "Betrayed". I love Nathan Lane. :DWicked - "Defying Gravity", because isn't it fun to just belt the last bit out?Are you a performer/stagehand/whatever? Heck yeah. How did you get into musical theater? Through "Phantom of the Opera". It was my transition musical to all my musical obsessions now (meaning RENT).What is your favorite thing about musical theater? Becoming someone else, and telling your story in a completely unrealistic way, though it has a meaning that couldn't be heard through spoken word.Best musical theater experience? Doing "Once on This Island" with my highschool. Awesome fun.WHOOO YEAH why didn't I think of this. I love musicals way too much.
AH! I love Christmas Bells too... i'm so pissed that they left it out of the movie ;_;And i've never seen the Lion King (the musical.. i'm crazy i love with the movie)
If you ever, EVER have the oppertunity to see it, take it. I'm dead serious. It's absolutely great. And Christmas Bells is SO awesome. My second favorite song from RENT is "Goodbye, Love", FOR THE LAST TWO PARTS. I was so angry that they had cut it. But it's gonna be in the DVD so I'm fine. :D
yay for dvd's!
Yeah... "Stars" is amazing. In fact, I think I am going to have to listen to it NOW!
"Stars" is just so pretty, and I love how they tie that theme in with Javert. :D
