I think it had something to do with when I got the Sound of Music on VHS and watched it WAY too much.. but a long timeWhat is your favorite thing about musical theater? Just being there seeing the show and listening to the music ... Best musical theater experience? I'd have to say my massive 6 show-4 day trip to NY with one of my best friends and my mom after I graduated High School. We hit up a bunch of raffles and the smaller tkts booth... Fiddler, Chicago, Avenue Q, Spamalot, Phantom and Rent. Best way to spend all that hard earned cash XD
Hey...I went to NY to see shows after my HS graduation, too! :) We saw Les Mis, The Producers (with the OBC - if we had sold our tickets, we probably could have paid for our entire trip and had money left over, but we wanted to see the show), The Full Monty and Follies. It was so much fun :)
AHHH! I would have loved to see Les Mis or The Producers on Broadway... (i actually still haven't seen the producers...even the movie *cries*) ... and my friend probably would have killed you for Full Monty tix
Les Mis was AMAZING. My *favorite* actor was playing Jean Valjean (Ivan Rutherford - I've seen him three times in the role, and he's just fabulous), and the Producers was hysterical. The movie is alright...they could have made it better, though. We got the Full Monty tickets from TKTS (the one at the WTC...it was like 2 months before 9/11 ;_;), so we didn't have *really* good seats, but the show was still great :).I'd love to see Avenue Q on Broadway. I saw it in Vegas last Saturday, but they cut out a couple songs to make it shorter, and I would have liked to see them. It's something to do next time I'm in NY :).
Awww... what songs did they cut?
"There is life outisde your Apartment" and "I wish I could go back to College." "College" is my favorite song on the recording, so I was a little bummed about that.
Argh! I love "I wish I could go back to College" ... that one is just so much fun to sing ... stupid cuts
Heh, I also went to NYC with a couple of friends for my high school graduation! :)We saw Cabaret, Aida, Rent and Thoroughly Modern Millie. What a good way to end high school. :)
lol, we are all such nerds :)mmmm...Aida. I need to see that one again.
certainly the best way i could think of XD
Broadway makes me so poor. And I still love it.
I know... i just can't seem to get mad no matter how much money i pour in
